The Pelican used to stand tall and proud in the sand-filled playground opposite Block 35 in Dover estate. Though demolished in 2012, many who grew up in the 70s and 80s still reminisce on the fond memories of their childhood spent there. The Pelican was like a mini fortress, allowing them to climb through the hole to the top, or they could simple lie inside its “beak”.
